Accounting
The mission of the Accounting Department at the Penn State Smeal College of Business is to enhance and disseminate knowledge of accounting and the accounting profession through top-ranked educational opportunities and world-renowned faculty expertise.
Degree Programs
The department provides degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate level that equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for entry into any branch of the accounting profession, promoting adaptability in the changing requirements of the field and encouraging continuous professional development. The department also offers a doctoral program with a strong research emphasis to produce competitive candidates for careers in academia.
Faculty and Research
The department faculty are engaged in a robust range of research topics including insider trading, employee stock options, investment management, and tax policy.
Accounting Alumni Engagement
The department also benefits from Penn State alumni who continue to be actively engaged in accounting at Smeal. The department receives guidance from members of the Accounting External Advisory Board on matters related to strategic direction, curriculum, and career guidance for students.
Tutoring List
This website lists the undergraduate students who are interested/able to tutor other students in certain Accounting classes. Please contact the tutoring student directly if you need help with a class. All arrangements and compensation must be setup between the two students directly. The Accounting Department only compiles the list of tutors.
